Bringing a Jolly Goody Christmas to our local community

This year we’ve been overwhelmed with admiration for all the incredible people across the country who have pitched in to help get us through 2020. Thank you all!

In our local community, The Chippy Larder has kept people fed throughout the year with store cupboard staples and fresh fruit and veg – redistributing surplus food from supermarkets and farms to the tables of those who need it the most. It’s a win win!

When we heard they were putting on a feel-good festive event for the most vulnerable families in our community, we wanted to help out and bring a Jolly Goody Christmas to those who need it the most.

Tackling the logistics of working together, while physically apart, we’ve managed to create over two hundred Jolly Goody bags – because everyone deserves a special treat at Christmas.

If you want to support the amazing work of The Chippy Larder, you can get in touch via Facebook, email thechippylarder@gmail.com or make a donation via Just Giving.

We hope we’ve inspired you to get involved with your local food bank or cooperative, and there’s an incredible network operating all around the country who’d be glad of your support.

You can also help by donating to the wonderful work of FareShare who supply food banks and charities across the country (including The Chippy Larder) with their sustainable food initiative – you can read about it, and how to help here.

Best wishes,
