Doing the right things
for a better future

We believe business should be a force for good, and that true sustainability means bringing together economic growth and human progress without negatively impacting the planet. Every time we take action that supports this ambition, we leave a positive mark.

We call these our goodmarks*.

A pledge to balance purpose with profit

mark-making* is run on the simple philosophy that profit is the reward for serving society well. At the heart of this is an ongoing promise that we made over thirty years ago: to support our local communities and environment.

In 2010, we formalised this commitment further, giving our time and skills to worthy causes and inspiring others to do the same. It is an initiative that has taken us on quite a journey.

In 2022, our business became a Certified B Corporation™, verified as meeting B Lab’s standards for social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. In December 2025, we successfully recertified, reaffirming that this commitment is not a milestone we passed once, but a standard we continue to uphold and evolve.

B Corp™ recertified. Still committed.

In December 2025, we recertified as a Certified B Corporation with an overall score of 113.2.

Certified B Corporations are companies verified as meeting B Lab’s standards for social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

Our score remains well above the 80-point certification threshold and reflects a period that tested us. Between 2023 and 2024, we navigated a period of commercial challenge and change. Recertification gave us the opportunity to assess how our values held up under pressure.

We are proud that they did.

Part of a global movement

As a Certified B Corporation, we are part of a global community of more than 10,000 businesses working collectively towards an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy.

B stands for benefit. For people and the planet, not just shareholders.

Being part of this movement means:

  • Measuring what matters
  • Embedding social and environmental considerations into decision-making
  • Holding ourselves accountable for long-term impact
  • Contributing to collective progress

B Corp certification is an ongoing verification process that requires continuous improvement and recertification.

What recertification tells us

Recertification confirms that impact is embedded in how we operate, not treated as an add-on. Governance, procurement, people policies and environmental reporting are integrated into everyday decision-making.

Our performance is independently verified against B Lab’s standards. Since 2019, we have measured our full carbon footprint across Scopes 1, 2 and 3. In 2024, total emissions reduced year on year, and we strengthened reporting accuracy while continuing to use renewable electricity. We prioritise reduction first and offset only residual emissions.

Recertification also reminded us that impact shifts with circumstances. In 2024, our client mix affected our Customers score, as we did not work with a registered charity or non-profit organisation during the reporting period. Expanding purpose-led partnerships remains a priority.

Our goodmarks* in action

Governance

We embed responsible governance through:

  • Ethical Marketing principles
  • Anti-modern slavery commitments
  • Sustainable procurement standards
  • Structured stakeholder engagement
  • Strengthened cyber security and data protection

Our governance framework ensures decision-making considers stakeholders alongside commercial performance.

Workers

We are committed to improving the lives and wellbeing of our mark-makers.

In recent years we have:

  • Made a reduced working week permanent
  • Invested significantly in professional development
  • Introduced structured AI capability training
  • Maintained our Welldoing initiative
  • Provided confidential employee assistance support

Even during periods of change, we prioritised people.

Community

Whether through pro bono work, volunteering or monetary donations, we continue to support worthy causes both locally and nationally and work towards the following commitments:

Pro bono projects
We aim to donate at least 1% of our total mark-making* capacity to support organisations, using a broad range of our skill sets. You can read about some of the projects we have already been involved in here.

Volunteering

Every mark-maker has the opportunity to take a day out of the office to volunteer their time for a charity or cause of their choice. See where, when and how we have been lending our hands here.

Charitable donations
Sometimes only hard cash will do. We aim to match the fundraising efforts of each mark-maker up to £50 or contribute this sum to a charity of their choice. We also go the extra mile. Our team’s 13-mile Lost Hours Walk for CALM raised £5,138 for suicide prevention.

Environment

We measure, manage and report our environmental impact transparently.

Since 2019, we have carried out comprehensive carbon footprint audits across Scopes 1, 2 and 3, including pensions and client-related purchasing.

In 2024:

  • Our total emissions reduced by 12% compared with 2023
  • On a like-for-like basis, our footprint has reduced by 25% since 2019
  • We strengthened reporting accuracy by moving to actual pension emissions data
  • 100% of our studio electricity continued to come from renewable sources

Our total footprint reduced from 82.8 tonnes CO2e in 2023 to 72.6 tonnes CO2e in 2024.
We prioritise reduction first. Offsetting is used only for residual emissions through independently verified projects.

We measure, manage and report our environmental impact transparently.

Customers

We aim to create positive impact through responsible communication, particularly in sectors that shape people’s financial and professional lives.

In 2024, we did not work with a registered charity or non-profit organisation. As certain elements of the B Impact Assessment relate directly to serving purpose-driven or underserved enterprises, this affected our Customers score. This reflected portfolio composition during the reporting period, not a decline in service standards.

Expanding purpose-led partnerships remains a clear priority for our next phase of growth.

Looking ahead

Recertification is not the end of a cycle. It is the start of the next one.

Our focus for the coming years:

  • Expand purpose-driven client partnerships
  • Restore and exceed 1% pro bono capacity
  • Develop a structured Net Zero pathway
  • Prepare for and transition to the new B Lab standards

As B Lab evolves its framework to raise the bar for impact and accountability, we are actively preparing to meet the updated standards. We see this as an opportunity to strengthen how we embed environmental, social and governance performance across our business.

We remain committed to leaving only goodmarks*.

The policies that guide us

To ensure our goodmarks* philosophy translates into everyday decisions, we have developed a consolidated goodmarks* Policies and Procedures document. Effective from January 2025 and reviewed annually, it brings together our Code of Ethics, Ethical Marketing, Anti-Modern Slavery, Environmental, Sustainable Procurement, Community Support and Sustainable Travel policies.

Together, these frameworks ensure that financial, environmental, social and community impacts are considered in key business decisions.
